Introduction 

Ready to talk your head off? Our online English conversation classes are perfect if you are interested in improving your English speaking ability for school, work, or travel – and meeting amazing new people!

The English language comes alive in everyday conversation, not in grammar books. Whether speaking English in the office, on campus, or out on the town, you may have difficulty following the speed, style, and complexity of natural English speech. Our English conversation classes help you jump in and speak up!

By the end of the course you will be able to:

      • Participate in discussions with partners and small groups where you use specialized English expressions to volunteer, interrupt, agree, disagree, summarize, and take turns.
      • Do small talk with partners about hobbies, interests, family, travel, and other everyday activities.
      • Discuss current events, global issues, and other contemporary topics.
      • Use common idioms and slang to express yourself and connect with native speakers.
      • Share details about your professional experiences, field of study, or other areas of expertise.
      • Use appropriate syllable stress, intonation, and body language to convey nuance, tone, and tact.
      • Understand relaxed pronunciation typical of American English conversation.
      • Adapt to the style and expectations of conversation styles in North America and English-speaking environments.

Course facts, tuition and fees

Our English Conversation Class consists of 8 one-hour and 15 minute lessons held in Zoom over the course of two weeks. 

  • Course fee: $195 ($25 registration fee + $170 tuition)

All classes are scheduled for Eastern Time (US).

Have you studied English in books but wish you could speak more fluently? Can you pass English exams but can’t shoot the breeze? To shoot the breeze means to have a casual chat. That’s one of many English idioms you can learn to make your English come to life in natural conversations.

What topics do you love to discuss? You get to choose your favorite conversation topics in our English speaking classes. We can discuss family, food, travel, work, culture, technology, science, business, politics, literature, art, music, movies, and more–whatever inspires you. Our instructors will take your topic requests and tailor the English conversations lessons for you, your interests and passions.

What about your English level? Our flexible conversation lessons can accommodate students with a mix of English levels, accents, and backgrounds. However, our conversation classes work best if your English is A2 or higher, which means at least a high beginner level. If you’re a beginner, we recommend our Intensive English Program, or our private tutorials, where you build the basic skills for English conversation classes.

Our conversation classes create a warm and welcoming environment so your confidence can grow along with your abilities.  With better conversation skills, you can not only build career relationships but form lifelong friendships. With better pronunciation of English sounds, words, and phrases, you can make your meaning more clearly understood. And with greater skills joining, leading, and following the flow of discussions in English, you can make personal and professional connections. 

Academic and Business English Programs

  • Academic and Business English Writing Course. This two-week customized language program trains you in how to write better sentences, paragraphs, and papers for professional and university purposes You’ll practice the writing process from the initial brainstorm to the final proofread. 
  • Job and College English Interview Class. This two-week customized language program trains you in how to succeed during the job interview process, from the first email to final handshake. You’ll analyze competency-based interview questions, create STAR answers, and practice speaking A LOT.
  • Online English Program and on campus with the University Pathways Track. For a more intensive experience, this customized language program consists of 21 hours a week and runs in 4-week monthly sessions. The IEP incorporates speaking, writing, reading, and listening lessons useful for both general English learners and academic and business English students.
