Are you interested in studying French in another country this summer? Here are the International Language Institute of Massachusetts (ILI) options that we can recommend:

  • French in France
  • French in Quebec, Canada

ILI is accredited by the International Association of Language Centres (IALC) and has created great partnerships with other small language schools around the world.

We choose schools that we have visited, where we have sent students who have had a positive experience and where we know and trust the directors.

In exchange for recommending the schools, ILI receives a commission on the cost of your tuition, which we put towards our Free English Program for Immigrants and Refugees. You would pay the same price if you went directly to the school, but by studying a French summer course through ILI, you’re also helping others.

If you are interested in improving your language skills through a summer French course abroad, give ILI a call. We can help find the right school and experience for you.

Feedback

“I think really just the way the class is structured – the fact that everything is in French so we really have to try and follow a long. I also like when we are in pairs and have to try and converse.”

Check Your French Level

Unsure of the level you are at in the language you want to learn? Don’t worry, we are here to help.

Ask Samira for an assessment in the language you are interested in. She will arrange an appropriate instructor to assess you in a 5-minute conversation, and then when you register for a course, we can place you in the class that will be best for you.

If you are a zero-level beginner, you’ll start in our Level 1 class, so need for an assessment.

Selected FAQs

We assign optional homework as many of our students are working adults with very busy schedules. However, we encourage our students to practice outside of class as much as possible.

Some of our teachers are native speakers and others have native and near native fluency.

We do not allow this as we have found that it is disruptive to the class as they build a trusting community that enables students to take risks in learning. It’s also difficult for teachers to have students come and go.

No, there is no financial aid for language classes. However, Career counselors at MassHire Career Centers can help you apply for an Individual Training Account (ITA), which provides financial support to job seekers who need occupational skills training in order to successfully re-enter the workforce. Eligible individuals choose from a pre-approved list of training courses, which include English teacher training courses and TESOL course distance learning, and tuition costs are paid directly out of the ITA. To find out if you are eligible for an ITA for your TESOL Certificate cost, please contact a MassHire Career Center.

We are accredited by the International Association of Language Centres (IALC) and have created great partnerships with other small language schools around the world.

We have sent students to a number of schools and in exchange we receive a commission on the student’s tuition for the recommendation at no extra cost to you. We put this money towards our Free English Program for Immigrants and Refugees. This helps close the gap on funding we receive from the state of Massachusetts and what the program actually costs to run.
