About Laura Battles

Laura has been teaching since she graduated from Hampshire College in 1984 with a B.A. in Spanish-English Bilingual Education. During the past 30+ years, she has alternated between teaching Spanish and ESOL and has worked with young children, teens, and adults in a variety of different school settings. Laura is an enthusiastic, lifelong learner and has earned three Master of Arts in Teaching degrees along the way. Although she lived in Granada, Spain for 15 years and has traveled extensively, her wanderlust is far from quenched. Her daughter, an art teacher who lives nearby, is her pride and joy. Laura enjoys running, live music, and spending time with family and friends. She is very excited to return to ILI after a 17- year hiatus.
