Beginner level 1/2: Students in this class have no background in the target language. Introduction to the sound system and pronunciation. Speaking in the present and future using basic greetings, numbers, food, time, personal information and general descriptions.
Elementary level 3/4: Students beginning at this level should be able to understand and respond to very basic conversational situations. This course enlarges on the present and future tenses and introduces some form of the past.
Upper Elementary level 5/6: Students are able to express themselves in present and future with some fluency. This course introduces the past tenses and enables students to work on their fluency using the structures studied thus far (the present, future and past), while increasing their vocabulary.
Intermediate level 7: Students who start at this level have a basic fluency and are comfortable speaking, reading, writing and understanding the language. Students have a working knowledge of the past tenses. This class compares the various structures used to express oneself in the past tense.
Upper Intermediate level 8: Students have fluency and accuracy in the present, past and future and are able to express themselves using the past tenses. This course introduces present subjunctive and commands.
Advanced level 9: Students are able to express themselves using the present subjunctive. This course allows students to expand their vocabulary while developing increased fluency and accuracy using all of the structures studied so far and introduces more sophisticated grammar.
