ILI is seeking to fill the following positions in the World Language Program:

  1. Part-time Italian Language Instructor to teach in-person at ILI.
  2. Part-time French Language Instructor to teach in-person at ILI.
  3. Part-time Spanish Language Instructor to teach primarily in the evenings, in-person at ILI.

About our Team

Our staff and instructors form a collaborative and supportive team, and we pride ourselves on being a wonderful place to work and teach.

World Language Program Class Schedule

  • Fall and Spring Programs: Classes meet 1.5 hours weekly for 12 weeks.
  • Winter and Summer Programs: Classes meet 1.5 hours twice weekly for 6 weeks.
  • Classes are offered mostly in-person with the goal of expanding our online offerings.

Student Profile

  • The majority of students are adult professionals and retirees. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design lessons that emphasize communication, cultural context, and student engagement.
  • Adapt instruction to the goals and proficiency levels of adult learners.
  • Provide feedback, track progress, and maintain attendance records.
  • Collaborate with program directors and colleagues to support consistent program quality and growth.

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native proficiency in the language being taught.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; in the language, education, or related field preferred.
  • Proven teaching experience (required).
  • Ability to use Google Suite, Google Classroom, and Zoom as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate:  $39/hour (includes teaching and prep time) + compensation for administrative tasks
  • Opportunities for paid professional development.
