Changing lives through the power of language
Maedeh’s experience learning English at ILI. This video was filmed and produced by Disquiet Dog as a donation to ILI.
Here are some of the successes that support of ILI’s IMPACT fund made possible this past year:
ILI’s Free English Program supported 200+ immigrants and refugees from around the world, helping them gain the English skills needed to achieve their goals and create stronger, more vibrant communities for everyone.
ILI Volunteer Tutors and 87 English learners worked together for more than 1,700 hours, partnering to focus on pronunciation, reading, writing and understanding – helping students achieve critical education and career goals.
Through ILI’s Workplace Training Program, more than 120 employees at regional businesses strengthened their language skills—boosting communication, job performance, and the overall strength of our regional workforce.
Scholarships sponsored by Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee, the Richard Martin Memorial Scholarship, and our Community Scholarship supported 13 immigrants and refugees from our Free English Program to join international students in the Intensive English Program, tripling their class time and profoundly improving their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
More than 670 students from our World Language Program connected with new cultures by learning German, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, both in-person and online. Through these tutorials and classes, they gained a deeper understanding of the world, transforming their perspectives and broadening their horizons.
21 People travelled internationally to 8 countries through ILI’s Language Travel Service, falling in love with local cultures and gaining fluency in their language of choice.
Our TESOL Certificate program—training teachers of English to speakers of other languages—certified 20 new educators this year, strengthening our local teaching community and expanding the number of skilled instructors across the region and beyond.
32 highly experienced, dedicated teachers and staff continued doing what they love best: working daily on behalf of students and advocating for intercultural understanding and diverse communities.
Your gift to the IMPACT Fund will go far to ensure successes like these continue throughout 2026!

Our Students

“My teacher is the best teacher I have ever had. She always find the way makes class fun and she always makes us to use the things that we learn. Every morning I felt her energy and her will to teach. Whenever I ask something she searched for it and helped me. She is more than a teacher to me.”
