About Cory Greenberg

Business Advisor

Cory rejoined the ILI board in November, 2024, some 30 years after first serving in the mid-1990’s as the board’s treasurer. He is committed to the work that ILI does, particularly the tools and support offered through the free English classes to immigrant and refugee language learners as they settle in their local communities. He notes that as someone who has difficulty learning other languages and the impact this has when he travels to non-English speaking areas, “I have a sense of the importance of overcoming this barrier.”

Cory has more than 40 years of experience in the business and nonprofit sectors as an owner, managing partner, investor, chief financial officer, treasurer and board member. He has developed business models, strategic plans and turnaround plans; implemented sales and acquisitions; and negotiated with landlords, partners, suppliers, lenders, sellers and buyers. Much of his experience is in financial management—accounting, budgeting and investing—and he brings a financial perspective to a range of business areas.

As he made the decision to reduce his consulting practice, Cory simultaneously sought to engage more fully in important local initiatives, which brought him to renew his support for ILI as a board member.
