About Allison Kretschmar

Program Administrator for the Associated Kyoto Program

Allison Kretschmar is an international education professional with more than a decade of experience advancing global learning opportunities in higher education. She currently serves as Program Administrator for the Associated Kyoto Program, where she oversees U.S.–based operations, supports strategic program development, and advises students preparing for immersive academic experiences abroad.

Prior to her current role, Allison served as Director of the Global Education Office at Hampshire College and held leadership and advising positions at the University of South Carolina. Her work has focused on expanding access to international experiences, strengthening institutional partnerships, and supporting student success through inclusive, student-centered advising and program design.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina’s M.Ed. program in Higher Education and Student Affairs, Allison also holds a B.A. in International Studies from Mars Hill University and has lived, studied, and worked abroad in Denmark, South Korea, and Japan. She looks forward to bringing her experiences and skills to the ILI Board to further the mission and goals of the organization.
