Study Travel Network Magazine recently included ILI in their article, “US English providers face pandemic and policy challenges”. The article is focused on the discussions that took place at the EnglishUSA Virtual Stakeholders’ Conference centering around international recruitment, COVID, policy changes, and the importance of advocacy.

2020 is quite the year for the theme of the conference to have been, “Rethink, Retool, Renew: An Industry in Transformation”. The industry has always faced challenges, but this year a new set of concerns and obstacles arose due to COVID-19 and our current administration.

Speakers and participants listed in the article include Daryl Bish (EnglishUSA), Joann Ng Hartmann (NAFSA), Cheryl Delk-Le Good (EnglishUSA), Gabriela Zelaya (U.S. Commercial Service), Mike Finnell (AIRC), Brittany Goodman (ICEF), Matthew Knott (StudyTravel), Karin Fischer (Chronicle of Higher Education), Caroline Casagrande(Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs), Alan Broomhead (EnglishUSA), Jennifer Phillips (EnglishUSA/Wisconsin ESL Institute), and Caroline Gear (ILI).

ILI’s own Caroline Gear urged delegates to “embrace the uncertainty, embrace the opportunity”. It is this kind of thinking that exemplifies ILI, a school where passion and innovation meet to grow alongside a truly special community.
