In mid-October, ILI launched a new way for donors to support our work—the IMPACT Fund—with a goal to raise $100,000. This is an ambitious goal, but it can be reached. Our Board of Directors is 100% committed, and their support, coupled with a COVID-19 stabilization grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, means we are almost halfway there.
In November, we were thrilled to announce that a supporter issued a $20,000 challenge to anchor the Fund! We created a ‘pictometer ‘ to chart the progress of numerous generous donors. For every $1000 raised, another square on the pictometer lights up. We are happy to announce we are at 75% of the challenge as indicated by the 15 colored squares.
The challenge is a significant boost to get us over the line. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. Right now, we are conducting all programs remotely and will continue with online learning into the future. But we will open our doors again for welcoming, in-person learning, when it’s safe to do so. There is much to be done to make that possible as health and governmental standards and recommendations evolve. And it takes money!
