Language based organizations are built on and centered around the existence of diverse cultures and experiences. In order to truly honor and amplify all of the voices that make up the world we live in, it is vital that as a nation we take time to mend and acknowledge the path we have collectively been on. Racism, Poverty, and Brutality all directly impact the world of education. Board member Robert Pura recently wrote an article for The Association of American Colleges and Universities’ blog. In his article titled It’s Time To Finally Repair Our Faults he states, “As educators, business leaders, and policy makers, we must view the protests in our streets and the post-pandemic rebuilding of America as an opportune moment to make systemic change. We need to address both the symptoms and the causes of the viruses that plague us. Our nation’s experiment in democracy is teetering on the edge, and this moment will determine if it falls.”
