Yamila is a half Puerto Rican Northampton native with a BA from Tufts University in Middle Eastern Studies & Arabic. After graduating, she spent 4 years living, working, and traveling in the Middle East. She completed a post-graduate certificate with the Center for Arabic Study Abroad in Cairo, worked with Middlebury College’s language-intensive study abroad programs in both Egypt and Jordan, and taught Arabic to high school students at Charlestown High School. She currently works at a labor rights non-profit in Amherst. In her spare time, she goes on hikes, fights for social justice, and cuddles with cats & dogs.
